Triaging
and resolving performance problems are time-consuming, frustrating and
expensive. To get the information needed to resolve problems, it is
important to trace and fully decompose transactions from end to end,
including actions that are initiated within a browser. |
|
|
Response Time Instrumentation (RTI) for Internet
Explorer provides response time measurements for browser-based
transactions. It knows when a user begins an action, i.e., requests a
page or submits data, and it knows when the result of the request is
returned and rendered inside the browser. |
 |
RTI is the least expensive, simplest and most
accurate way to trace transactions in a browser. |

Ready for Tivoli
RTI extends the capabilities found in products like IBM Tivoli®
Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) to include measurement of end-user
response times for actions initiated within the Internet Explorer
browser. |
RTI has received the IBM Ready for Tivoli validation and
is listed in the
IBM Open
Process Automation Library (OPAL). |
 |
Based on the ARM standard
RTI uses the Application Response Measurement (ARM) standard,
specifically version 4.0, to measure response times. Since ARM is an
open standard, RTI is easily integrated with other ARM-enabled products
to provide complete end-to-end response time measurement and transaction
decomposition.
Learn more about ARM.
In fact, this is where the true power of using RTI lies.
Out of the box, RTI integrates with Apache and WebSphere® to provide
immediate transaction tracing and decomposition from a user's PC through
the back-end servers supporting the request.
